Higher Education Academy

The Higher Education Academy was established in 2004 funded by the four HE funding councils in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Its vision is for students in UK higher education to enjoy the highest quality learning experience in the world, and it aims to:

  • Identify, develop and disseminate evidence-informed approaches
  • Broker and encourage the sharing of effective practice
  • Support universities and colleges in bringing about strategic change
  • Inform, influence and interpret policy
  • Raise the status of teaching

The Subject Subject Centre for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine (MEDEV, formerly LTSN-01) was hosted on behalf of the Academy by the School of Medical Sciences Education Development, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Newcastle University, NE2 7RU United Kingdom for from 2000-2001 up to March 2012.   The Subject Centre is now called MEDEV and will continue to work to support teaching and learning through a range of activities.
