Lindsay Wood, Project Officer
Summary
Lindsay joined the MEDEV Subject Centre in January 2010 as Project Officer for the HEFCE/Academy/Jisc Organising Open Educational Resources (OOER) project. He has a background in biomedical research, together with experience in teaching and supporting students, including those on a MBChB curriculum. Recent work has focused on supporting national and local projects in institutional policy and practice development.
Current Projects
Institutional Research Data Management at Newcastle University - iridium (Role: Project Manager)
Towards a holistic plan and infrastructure for research data management in the University, making data generated by research at the University both available and discoverable with effective curation throughout the full data lifecycle in consultation with the researchers who produce it. Workpackages include development of a draft research data management policy, together with tools/systems and human suppport infrastructures.
JISC Rapid Innovation: SupOERGlue - (Role: Project Officer)
SuperOERGlue piloted the integration of OER Glue with Newcastle University's Dynamic Learning Maps, enabling easy content creation and aggregation from within the learning and teaching support environments, related to specific topics.

Cross NHS-HE sector project, lobbying key stakeholders towards seamless access to learning resources by healthcare students in practice based training.
Substance misuse teaching and learning in the undegraduate medical curriculum (Role: Curriculum Co-ordinator)
Curriculum mapping and change implementation recommendations for an ideal set of substance misuse national learning outcomes within the undergraduate medical curriculum.
Organising open educational resources - OOER (Role: Project Officer)
Distilling existing good practice guidance to provide a risk assessment toolkit enabling navigation through patient consent, copyright, institutional policy and quality assurance issues when creating and sharing learning resources (such as through open educational resources).
