Lead into debates Activity: Soap box debates (all participants) Divide into 6 cohorts each allocated a case for or against the following areas Generic v Discipline Specific Ed DevShared v distinct MEDEV programmes Optional v compulsory ed dev for HE and NHS teachers 15 minutes to prepare then each cohort have nominated person to stand on soapbox for strict 3 minute presentation (18 minutes total) to present |

Activity: round table discussions – case studies in best practice (linked to expertise mapping in opening session – try and find diverse and innovative) 6 round table discussions – identify one person to lead each table with a case example of best practice (from post it notes (2) above) – people can join any group – with view of comparing practice to their own – remit to reflect on +/- of each plus one thing they will take away to consider in their own settings – outome a ‘flipchart’ poster which (1) describes the best practice (2) highlights successes (3) identify’s challenges and/or areas for future development (4) lists implications for other’s practice – stick these up for other groups to browse |
