2 day event - 04 September 2010 until 05 September 2010

ASC is offering a workshop on modern testing methodology in Tokyo, September 4-5, 2010. The goal of this workshop is to provide a broad introduction to item response theory (IRT) and computerized adaptive testing (CAT). It is intended for postgraduate students, lecturers, researchers and assessment professionals working in the fields of education, psychology, certification/licensure testing, training, and e-assessment. Content will be at an introductory level, with the objective that participants will be able to apply IRT analysis in their own area of work and understand the concepts of CAT. For more information or to register, please visit the workshop website. The workshop will be taught by Prof. John Barnard, Ph.D., ASC?s representative in Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, President of EPEC, and faculty at the University of Sydney. Prof. Barnard is an expert in assessment, mathematics, and psychometrics. The workshop is held in association with Waseda University Graduate School of Human Sciences (http://www.waseda.jp/eng/academics1/human.html). The planned location is the Tokyo International Forum, but because the venue does not accept reservations more than three months in advance, the second choice is the Hotel Arcadia Ichigaya. This will be finalized in June. An attendance certificate will be issued to each person that attends.
