Staff development conference 2010: Critical times, creative responses

3 day event - 10 November 2010 until 12 November 2010

The Staff Development Conference 2010 aims to bring together staff development professionals from across higher education institutions (HEIs) to develop connections.

With both formal and informal space available, there will be plenty of opportunities for delegates to engage in a wide range of activities. Plenary sessions will be set out cabaret style to encourage interaction between delegates; formal and informal networking sessions and contributions from regional groups will feature and the programme will also include some innovative, multimedia approaches to development.

UK higher education has survived and indeed thrived through many periods of turmoil. The longevity of higher education institutions suggests that the sector is ‘getting it right’ in delivering what they were established to do: the core business of teaching and learning, research and contribution to business, community and society. The 2010 conference will play its part in supporting the role that Staff Development and HR professional have in ensuring that UK higher education continues to excel during these difficult times.
