1 day event - 18 May 2012 from 09:30 until 12:30
A unique opportunity.
This interactive workshop aims to look at how we care for medically trained patients. We will examine the concept of Professional Courtesy and whether this should exist or not, breaking bad news in this scenario, difficulties and advantages when looking after doctor patients and negotiating appropriate management plans.
Dr Kate Granger will be facilitating the workshop. She has a very personal perspective on being a patient with a devastating diagnosis whilst also being a Registrar in Elderly Medicine. Kate will use real life examples from her book ‘The Other Side’ to illustrate her points and hopes that by attending the workshop clinicians will feel more confident when dealing with doctor patients.
The Other Side: A true story of one doctor’s journey as a patient coming to
terms with a terminal cancer diagnosis.
