Mini-projects

Do you have a great idea for an educational innovation and need some funding to help you?

The MEDEV miniproject scheme has run since 2001, with over 150 projects supported/funded to date (see past funded projects for reports, etc.). In 2009 we linked up with the Health Sciences and Practice Subject Centre (HSaP) to offer some joined up aspects to our call.

You can apply for up to £5,000 (or exceptionally £10,000 for a collaboration) per project. See past funded projects for an illustration of successful applications. There is a total pot of approximately £25,000 available.

Please note that all project proposal are bought to the attention of nominated primary contacts (NPCs).

Workshops

The Subject Centre has an open rolling call for workshops proposals, to which you may submit ideas at any time by completing the workshop proposal form.

Call for workshop proposals

We may consider proposals at any time but if you like deadlines then we will be convening panels to consider workshop proposals after 4 December 2009 and 31 March 2010.

Sponsorship

MEDEV is often asked to sponsor events, student engagement (and travel), and staff attendance at conferences, etc., which may be worthy of support but difficult to administer. We have therefore established a sponsorship scheme aimed at supporting educational activities which are not able to be funded from elsewhere.

Sponsorship limited to a maximum of £100 per application. The MEDEV logo must appear on relevant documentation and we need to see where, if it is an event, the institutions that participants are from (for our annual report). Applications for subsidy of student fees are ineligible. There is no deadline as it is an open rolling call and all proposals are externally reviewed.

This was a pilot scheme and due to unforeseen circumstances we are able to consider applications until the 30th of September (activities may take place after this date).

Competitions

Unfortunately, due to the current financial climate, the Excellence in Learning and Teaching competition for staff will not be running in 2010. Future competitions will be announced in the MEDEV eBulletin. If you have any further queries, or would like to receive the eBulletin, please email enquiries@medev.ac.uk

There are currently no open MEDEV Competitions.
