PhD studentships

To encourage the very best students to become involved in hearing, deafness and tinnitus research in the UK.

The projects should bring tangible benefits closer for people who are deaf, hard of hearing or who have tinnitus. PhD studentship applications are invited in any of the following areas:
* Hearing loss: cause, prevention and treatment
* Hearing devices: improving benefit
* Tinnitus: causes and alleviation

Funding will be around £25,00 per year for three or four years for established 4-year programmes.

The submission deadline for applications is 20th September 2010. Decisions will be announced in December 2010. All applications will have to be submitted by the proposed supervisor. Please see their website.

Restrictions: Students and supervisors must be based at recognised UK universities or research institutes.
