The Association for the Study of Medical Education, which includes in its goals the promotion of high quality research into medical education, invites Members (including undergraduate student members) to submit a description of a research study or evaluation of an innovation in teaching in the field of medical and healthcare education.
Some educational research projects or teaching innovations often require modest amounts of funding to cover expenses such as focus group attendance, travel, simulated patient fees and these grants are intended to assist these projects. The grants are not intended to supplement the natural support that institutions should give to individuals and therefore cannot be used to fund PhD studies, computing equipment, overheads, research assistants/associates and similar. The grants can be used for transcription costs however, these must not exceed £16.00 per hour. Small Grant funding must not be used for conference attendance (including ASME's ASM).
Please note, the deadline date for submissions is 21st January 2011.
