Project grants (Neuroanaesthesia Society of Great Britain and Ireland (NASGBI) )

AIMS This grant is intended to support all or part of a clinical research project in the field of neuroanaesthesia or neurointensive care.

ELIGIBILITY The grant will be awarded in open competition across Great Britain & Ireland. Applicants need not be members of the NASGBI. The project must be relevant to Neurosciences and should have clear benefit to the NHS. Payment of the grant is subject to Research Governance and applicable approvals (NREC, MHRA, etc...). The research must be carried out according to the guidelines stipulated in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

THE SUPPORT Budget for the round is £10,000. Applications for smaller sums would also be welcome. This may be for equipment (excluding laptops, personal computers, filing cabinets and other basic office equipment), consumables, part salary or other expenses that will be directly incurred by the research. If the grant is used to support a salary, the employer is responsible for ensuring that appropriate health checks are made according to local occupational health guidelines and that the employee carries appropriate professional indemnity.

REPORT Successful recipients must commit to providing a written report on the progress of the research to the NASGBI grants officer annually. On completion of the project the researchers may be requested to present a summary of their work at the annual ASM of the NASGBI. The NASGBI must be also acknowledged in any presentation or publication that arises from the project.
