Doctoral Fellowships (Public Health Agency for Northern Ireland)

This scheme is intended to enable the individual to develop a research career in the HSC by undertaking research training leading to a PhD.  The Health & Social Care Research and Development function of the Public Health Agency (HSC R&D) offers a maximum of four Doctoral Fellowships to support research training in order to increase the Health and Social Care (HSC) R&D capacity and to build an evaluative evidence-based culture.

Doctoral Fellowship awards are available for a maximum of 3 years full-time or 6 years part-time. An award will provide support for the applicant’s salary costs, tuition fees, research expenses and conference travel.

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, 15th October 2010 at 4.00pm. Potential applicants are advised to contact HSC R&D Division to discuss their application. Application forms and guidance notes can be obtained from HSC R&D Division.

Restrictions:  The scheme is open to individuals employed in the HSC or in voluntary/not-for-profit organisations in Northern Ireland involved in health or social care provision. Those who may apply include allied health professionals, dentists, health and social care managers, medical staff, nurses, optometrists, pharmacists, social workers and other independent contractors.
