Please note that BSPD will be accepting applications for this award in 2012 for elective projects in 2013
Value of award: £300
Entry criteria:This competition is open to BSPD student members who are intending to undertake an elective project within a year from the prize submission deadline. Students should submit a summary of no more than 250 words, describing their proposed elective project. The project should involve the dental health of children. The winning student will have to submit a short report on their elective project once completed (maximum 1000 words).
- Applicants must complete the standard submission form (Appendix C) and submit it electronically to the BSPD Conference Abstract and Prize Committee via the BSPD central secretariat by the 15th of December before the year in which the elective project is to be undertaken.
- The abstract should be limited to 250 words and be structured according to guidance given for all BSPD abstracts (see section 3 for abstract instructions).
Judging process:The Chair of the Conference Abstract and Prize Committee (CACP) and the BSPD president will judge the applications (see appendix D for mark sheet) unless there is a conflict of interest, in which case another CACP member will be invited to review the applications. Applicants will receive a reply from the Chair of the CAPC within four weeks following the award closing date. The winning entry(s) will be sent their certificate and cheque as soon as possible after this date. If a winning abstract is not accepted, or the applicant is subsequently unable to undertake the proposed elective project, the Chair of the CACP must be informed and the award will have to be returned to the Society.
