This project will help to make available to the medical, dental and veterinary constitutency the first five of the new ASME booklet/guide series (due to start shipping in September 2006).
It will also enable ASME to substantially increase their initial print run thus making many more hard copies of the booklet available, and securing added value for both organisations.
MEDEV will distribute, for no charge, at least one copy of the set of five booklets to all medical, dental and vet schools in the UK, and other relevant bodies as appropriate.
MEDEV will receive 100 copies of each of the first five booklets, and have a logo appearing as appropriate.
Frank Smith is Chief Executive of ASME and is Director of Postgraduate General Practice Education in the Wessex Deanery. Previously he was a General Practitioners in Surrey, and for five years, until his move to Winchester, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of General Practice and Primary Care at St George's Hospital Medical School in Tooting. He has very considerable experience of all aspects of medical education.
Dr Graham Buckley: Elected to the Chair of ASME in 2004 on stepping down from his post as Chief Executive of NHS Education for Scotland; Graham was Honorary Secretary of the Association from 1995 - 2001. He is also a previous Editor of Medical Education.
Dr Tim Swanwick has been appointed as the editor of the ASME booklet series
The Subject Centre been involved with ASME for six years and Nigel Purcell currently serves on ASME council. He has substantial experience of all aspects of medical education.

Very wide range of existing resources including those already produced by ASME and by AMEE. However this new series will take a very practical approach to the topics chosen.
