E-Moderating for health care educators (Open - For Attendance)

Summary

A customised Gilly Salmon four week online course from All Things in Moderation hosted by the Subject Centre. Cost of £325 (The event is not VAT rated) per delegate.

Aims

Gilly Salmon's popular e-moderating course is offered to health care educators in order to facilitate a better understanding of the potential for e-Moderating in a clinical teaching environment.

Participants will be able to take part in the e-tivities designed to promote understanding of the role of e-moderating, offering a chance to engage with peers who also work with clinical students. This course has run before and a write up is available in 01.11 edition of our newsletter.

Activities

This online course is fully web-based (browser) with a maximum of 18 people per course.

It is divided up into 5 sessions, each session relating to one stage in the 5-stage model. As a student in the course you will be expected to read the weekly assigned reading (from the book E-moderating) and take part in a number of online activities ? All Things in Moderation call them e-tivities. You will need some commitment. Approximately 25 hours overall spread over the 4 weeks.

The course is based on a group of lecturers working online together, so it?s very important to start on time and continue to contribute throughout the 4 weeks.

The course encourages you to reflect on your ideas about e-moderating and those of others as you go about your usual every day work or in downtime- travelling or in the bath!

You will need good access to the Internet, preferably from both office and home, and a flexible and open approach to exploring e-learning. You will not need a high level of technical skill to get started. If you can log on to Web sites you can access the course!
