Teaching development grants and other HE funding schemes are highly competitive and new staff wishing to apply or staff who wish to improve their skills in writing or reviewing high quality proposals for educational projects are welcome to attend an on-line workshop (up to a maximum of 8 participants at a time).
The MEDEV team see many small project proposals which could have been improved if they had:
This 'workshop' will use actual proposals received and comments made by reviewers to illustrate different aspects of quality.

This is a participative workshop where some sample past proposals (and comments made by reviewers) will be used to illustrate different aspects of quality and promote discussion and comment during the workshop. It is fully on-line and will run from 12:30-16:45 with a 15 minute break at 15:00. Please be ready to login in advance at 12:30 to test the system and anyone new to Elluminate is welcome to attend a brief tour of the system from 12:45. It is possible that the group will work in pairs in breakout rooms in Elluminate for part of the time.

Megan Quentin-Baxter (Director, MEDEV) has authored numerous successful funding proposals and is a reviewer for the JISC, the Academy and many small grant schemes, and Gillian Brown (Advisor, MEDEV) maintains the MEDEV 'fundops' database where new funding opportunities are advertised.
This workshop is aimed at those who wish to bid for small grants (such as those offered by the Academy, ASME, JISC, etc).
