Job Purpose
Provide support for academic practice (teaching and learning) across the five Colleges.
Plan, design and teach courses and interventions for and within Colleges, e.g. courses leading to the award of a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, or the design of bespoke academic practice development at Colleges’ request.
In collaboration with College and Corporate Services colleagues, design, manage and implement projects in support of the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy.
Person Specification
- Good working knowledge of Higher Education pedagogy
- Ability to apply knowledge of Higher Education pedagogy in supporting professional development, and delivering training and other development interventions, for teaching and learning and academic practice more broadly
- Ability to apply knowledge of Higher Education pedagogy in strategic planning development and quality enhancement for teaching and learning and academic practice
- Ability to work both independently, managing own time and workload effectively, and to work co-operatively as part of an effective team, contributing constructively to the development of the service and project activities.
- Ability to get on with people at all levels
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate with the full range of staff, exercising tact, discretion and diplomacy
- Confidence in negotiating sensitively but assertively with people at all levels
- High level of organisational skills
- Ability to produce high quality completed work to deadlines
- High level of IT skills
- Readiness to take on new challenges and extend own range of skills
- Educated to Degree level
