Mental Health in Higher Education (mhhe)
This project aims to enhance learning and teaching about mental health, within higher education, across the disciplines and professions. It is a joint initiative between the four subject centres most closely involved in mental health education:
mhhe complements the work of uni-disciplinary initiatives such as the Association of University Teachers of Psychiatry. mhhe aims to raise the profile of learning and teaching about mental health, disseminate effective practice and encourage the disciplines to learn from one another. The project seeks to facilitate links - and acknowledge overlaps - between educators, policy makers and those with professional and/or personal experience of mental health problems and services. Work to date has included a series of regional and national workshops on mental health learning and teaching in higher education; a set of case studies to illustrate reflective, effective and innovative teaching practice; good practice guidance on the involvement of users and carers in education; a discussion forum for those involved in learning and teaching about mental health and a web-based resource exchange. This can be found at http://www.mhhe.heacademy.ac.uk, along with information about how you can become involved.
