FAQ - Can you recommend any free online HTML tutorials?

Answer

Netskills have licensed their training materials, which if your organisation has signed up to it, you simply have to register with the website at: http://materials.netskills.ac.uk/ to get a username and password. Most UK HE institutions have signed up so that their staff can access the materials and use them freely. They are always high quality. There are about 17 modules relating to the creation of web pages from very basic introcutions to HTML to advanced development of dynamic database driven sites. You can access and go through the materials at your own pace.

W3Schools is a web developer's portal with web free tutorials and references relating to web development subjects, including HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and SQL. Beginner and Advanced Tutorials are offered for each development language, as well as free quizzes and examples. Certification is also offered at a cost of $75 to sit the test (a pass mark of 70% is required to become W3Schools certified).
